Many employers like to work with their employees when they come up short of funds for things like medical and dental expenses. Ask your employer if they have such a program where you work. If they do they will give you an advance at no interest and will allow you a fixed period of time to replay the loan. This is a far preferable way to proceed than immediately resorting to a quick personal loan.

A word of caution when applying to your employer for an advance. Most employers will be happy to make the advance, but they become resentful if you resort to frequent requests. So do it sparingly and the resource will be there when you really need it.
